Irregular, Unknown Light Sources In Dynamic Global Illumination
نویسندگان
چکیده
The goal in global illumination solutions for dynamic environments is to update a scene based on past scenes. Current state of the art solutions are either not applicable, or unduly complex, when there are large changes in the illumination of unbounded number of objects. Such changes may be caused by the appearance of unexpected (at modeling time), irregular light sources. We define a subset of dynamic environments in which new light sources may be user introduced, and implement solutions that complement existing schemes.

On Making Light Maps Dynamic
This paper presents a real-time global illumination method for static scenes illuminated by arbitrary, dynamic light sources. The method consists of a preprocessing phase and a real-time rendering phase. The real-time rendering algorithm obtains the indirect illumination caused by the multiple scattering of the light from partial light paths that are precomputed and stored in the preprocessing ...
متن کاملCombining Dynamic Simulation, High Dynamic Range Photography and Global Illumination
This paper describes an approach to seamlessly integrate synthetic moving objects into a real scene. We create photorealistic physical simulations by combining work in dynamic simulation, high dynamic range photography and global illumination. We capture realistic physical interactions between synthetic objects by using a rigid body dynamic simulator. To visually integrate our synthetic moving ...
متن کاملApproximating the Fire Flicker Effect Using Local Dynamic Radiance Maps
Realistic fire and the flicker effect is a complicated process to simulate in realtime and little work has been done to simulate this complicated illumination effect in realtime. Fire is not a directionally uniform source of light but varies in intensity not only with time but also with direction. Most realtime applications use a standard point light source model for local illumination effects ...
متن کاملStereoscopic augmented reality with pseudo-realistic global illumination effects
Recently, augmented reality has become very popular and has appeared in our daily life with gaming, guiding systems or mobile phone applications. However, inserting object in such a way their appearance seems natural is still an issue, especially in an unknown environment. This paper presents a framework that demonstrates the capabilities of Kinect for convincing augmented reality in an unknown...
متن کاملA flexible real-time framework for pre-calculated global illumination solutions
A Framework for real-time application of view-independent precalculated global-illumination solutions, retaining the ability to adjust the intensity of light-sources after precalculation, is described. High dynamic range scenes are fully supported. The framework is highly flexible both in terms of light-source numbers and target hardware, both high-end graphics-cards and older models are suppor...
